Banque Heritage is a Swiss private bank located in Geneva, Zurich, Basel and Sion. The origins of Banque Heritage SA can be traced to the soft commodity trading business where the founding families have long-standing experience spanning over 200 years and in which they have established themselves as global market leaders.

Indeed, what differentiates Banque Heritage from other Swiss private banks is the fact that the legacy of the traditional family businesses continues to prevail and is non-banking related. Rather, it was the wealth generated by the commodity trading businesses that created the need to establish what were initially respective family offices with similar overriding principles of utmost integrity, open architecture, independence of judgment, and singular dedication to the stewardship of family wealth.

Importantly, given the long-term horizon of the family offices, they have always been driven by the achievement of superior investment performance for clients rather than short-term revenue goals, something which differentiates them from typical financial institutions.

Over time, other families with like-minded values joined and entrusted their wealth, the circle became larger, and the family offices subsequently became private banks with a broad investment offering from traditional to hedge fund investments to own sourced club deals where clients can invest alongside the founding families. 

In addition to a fully owned subsidiary, Banque Heritage Uruguay, based in Montevideo, the Bank is also majority shareholder of Meridian Wealth Management, a Lausanne-based independent wealth management firm. 

Michael Welti serves as the Managing Partner and Head of Private Banking at Banque Heritage, a distinguished Swiss Private Bank catering to both domestic and international clientele. Over the course of his career, he has assumed numerous senior leadership roles across a variety of financial institutions in Switzerland, where he has specialized in Global Wealth Management and financial advisory services. In recognition of his achievements in the banking sector, Michael was honored with the "Banker of the Year" award by the IFC Award in London in early 2020.
